    Earth News/ Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar announced today, Monday, that clear progress has been achieved in the field of transition towards clean and renewable energy, noting that the transition to clean energy requires decades.
    Abdul-Jabbar said in a speech during his participation in the International Petroleum Technology Conference ( IPTC2022 ) in Saudi Arabia, which was followed by Earth News, that “Iraq has developed a strategy for the years 2020-2030, aimed at reducing dependence on fossil fuels in the production of electric power, and working to increase rates of The production of solar energy and other clean energy sources,” noting that “we have achieved important steps in this regard by signing important agreements with solid international companies.”
    Ismail added that “the transition to clean energy requires decades,” noting that “Iraq has invested (3) billion dollars in gas investment projects and future projects with major international companies, and our message is clear to all our partners, that the transition to clean energy is One of Iraq’s priorities, by providing all logistical requirements, infrastructure and human resources, to make the transition to clean energy a success.
    Regarding the oil market, he stressed that "the interest of the OPEC + group requires agreeing on the formula of an agreement that achieves its objectives in maintaining the balance and stability of the oil market," explaining that "any change in the group's agreement may cast a shadow on this market."
    The International Petroleum Technology Conference opened in Riyadh, with the participation of the oil ministers of Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, the Emirates and Kuwait. Leaders of the energy sector in the region and the world discussed during the conference joint visions on the latest developments and trends in the fields of energy, and current and emerging technologies that will shape the future of the global energy sector from by supporting sustainable energy projects.
    The conference will also be attended by experts and those interested in the energy field from 70 countries around the world, and more than 300 international companies, as it will include 107 technical sessions in which more than 800 scientific research papers will be presented.
