Today, Sunday, the Ministry of Planning confirmed the continuation of the examination of imported goods in accordance with the established mechanism, and while it indicated that its application was not affected by the momentum of entering goods after the decision to open import for a period of 3 months, it indicated the method of detecting change and forgery operations.
Ministry spokesman Abdul-Zahra Al-Hindawi said that "according to the well-known mechanism, the Central Agency for Standardization and Quality Control has previously contracted with a number of international examining companies that examine imported goods and products in the country of origin."
He added, "Any merchant or importer, when he wants to bring goods from abroad, examines them through these companies in the country of origin, and the company issues a certificate of conformity with those goods and sends them to the border office, and when the shipment is received to the office, the certificate is matched with the existing goods to ensure that they are It was not subjected to alteration or falsification during its shipment."
Al-Hindawi added, "Accuracy in the examination remains dependent on the merchants and their commitment to the examination process, and is also linked to the border crossing points, which also have to ensure that these imported goods and commodities are checked and issued with an examination and conformity certificate."
He pointed out that "on the other hand, shipments may enter the country through unofficial and unchecked ports, but the imported goods as a whole must be examined, making sure that they are checked at the border office."
He added, "The momentum in entering goods has nothing to do with the inspection mechanism, and the importing trader is required to adhere to this mechanism and to inspect the imported goods through the company's office located in the country of origin."
