    Yes Iraq: Baghdad

There was not much information available about the export capacity of Khor al-Amaya port, which was announced to be suspended and out of service about two weeks ago for maintenance purposes, while the statements of the Ministry of Oil and its companies are characterized by “ambiguity.” While the ministry suggested the possibility of the port entering work at the end of this year, the company speaks Basra stated that the port's rehabilitation works will end in 2025, that is, after more than 3 years from now!
The Deputy Director-General of the Basra Oil Company, Ahmed Fadel Dehim, said in a statement to the official agency and followed by "Yes Iraq", that "there is an effort to carry out work to restore the carrier pipeline, which was damaged two years ago, with the aim of increasing export capacity by 300 thousand barrels per day."

On the other hand, Dahim notes that “the final touches to complete the third offshore pipeline are now underway, as it will be linked to the port in one of its branches, and at the end of 2023 it will be ready to operate with an increase in export capacity of 600,000 barrels per day.”
Here, Dhaim’s statement indicates, in principle, that the port is supposed to enter work at the end of next year 2023, that is, after nearly a year and a half, and at the same time it refers to the addition of an export capacity of about 300,000 barrels by repairing the currently damaged pipeline, as well as an increase in export capacity of 600 One thousand barrels by completing the third pipeline, while he did not clarify how much the current export capacity is, and how much it will be? Will 900,000 barrels be added, or will the final export capacity by completing the two pipelines amount to 600,000 barrels?

In addition to the ambiguity in the statement of the Basra Oil Company, about the export capacity, the ambiguity is increasing about the date of re-working at the Khor port. While he talked about the third pipeline will be ready for operation in 2023, Dahim confirmed at the end of his statement that “the rehabilitation works of Khor Al-Amaya port will end in 2025.” He pointed out that "these works will restore to the port a large part of its design capacity."
Khor Al-Amaya port is an oil port dedicated to the export of crude oil along with the Basra oil port. It is located to the southeast of the Al-Faw Peninsula in the Arabian Gulf region. It is one of the 7 ports in Basra Governorate, 5 of which are commercial and 2 are oil.
