The leader of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, received, on Wednesday, in his office in the capital, Baghdad, the head of the Democratic Party, Bafel Talabani, to discuss the political developments in the country.
A statement by al-Maliki's office, Mawazine News, received a copy of it, stated that during the meeting, the latest political developments and efforts to form a national consensus were discussed, and the meeting stressed consensus on the basis of true partnership to save Iraq from the current political situation.
The statement stated that the meeting welcomed today's initiative to bring together the various forces and parties in order to find an appropriate solution and overcome challenges.
During the meeting, Talabani stressed the PUK's keenness to reach a national agreement, declaring that the country's current situation requires that we all be one voice for stability and better governance, and that our goal is to achieve a secure life and prosperity for citizens. Ended 29/R77
