On Saturday, Lebanese media revealed the details of the arrest of Abdullah Yasser Al-Sabawi, the grandson of Saddam Hussein's half-brother.
Al-Jadeed channel said, in a report: "Al-Sabawi is currently detained by the Lebanese Directorate of Public Security, at the request of the Iraqi authorities."
The channel denied that Al-Sabawi had "committed any crime or had a local or international arrest warrant issued against him."
She explained that the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, personally asked Beirut to extradite Al-Sabawi to Baghdad.
For her part, the lawyer, Bushra Khalil, said that Saddam Hussein's sister, Nawal, called her, as well as Saad Sabawi, Abdullah's uncle, and others from the family and informed her about his arrest in Lebanon and that he holds a Yemeni passport.
She indicated that she contacted the Lebanese Public Prosecution and it became clear that Abdullah was not accused of committing any crime in Lebanon, where he has been residing for the purpose of working for 4 years.
