    [size=45]Yesterday, Wednesday, the Ministry of Water Resources confirmed working to confront the shortage crisis and deliver water to those who deserve it for all governorates, while stressing the monitoring of the perfusion plan by satellite. An official statement from the ministry, received by Al-Mada, stated:[/size]
    [size=45]"The Minister of Water Resources, Mahdi Rashid Al-Hamdani, chaired the ninety-fourth meeting of the opinion / ninth committee for the year 2022, in the presence of the technical and administrative undersecretaries of the ministry, the technical advisor, experts and general managers of all the ministry and its formations."[/size]
    [size=45]Al-Hamdani stressed, according to the statement, the importance of “working in the spirit of one team and supporting everyone to overcome the water scarcity crisis and to ensure the delivery of water to those who deserve it and in all governorates.”[/size]
    [size=45]The statement added, "The meeting discussed a number of issues related to the ministry's work, foremost of which is the winter agricultural plan for the next season, stressing the importance of monitoring the irrigation plan using satellites."[/size]
    [size=45]He pointed out, "Discussing the draft law on switching from open irrigation to closed irrigation and giving great importance to this issue and expediting its adoption as a law in line with the ministry's policy of adopting modern irrigation methods to confront water scarcity."[/size]
    [size=45]The statement confirmed, "The meeting also witnessed a presentation of the water situation of the Tigris and Euphrates basins and their tributaries, according to the variables and the size of the requirements."[/size]
    [size=45]He noted that "the participants voted before the conclusion of the meeting on the draft memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Water Resources in Iraq with its counterpart the Ministry of Natural Water Resources and Environment in Russia and a draft memorandum of understanding between the ministry and the company (wPS) for Water, Peace and Security to mitigate water-related challenges."[/size]
    [size=45]The statement went on, "The assembled also voted to transform the representations of the National Center for Water Resources Management in the governorates into a people."[/size]
    [size=45]On the other hand, another statement from the ministry confirmed that “the specialized technical staff working in the drilling brigade 120 of the General Authority for Ground Water, Diyala branch, completed their work of digging the well of the Al-Khandaq school in the Tarsaq area, Qazaniya district, at a depth of 78 m, with a good productivity estimated at 8 liters / sec. This is to provide water for school students and to benefit from groundwater for multiple daily uses, and with the start of the new school year.”[/size]
    [size=45]He continued, "The Directorate of Water Resources in Karbala, Al-Hindiya District, continues its work by removing the chamblan from the Umm Tararid canal and using the mechanical method, in order to deliver water to the river's deputy, operate the liquefaction stations operating there, and secure the water quotas for agricultural lands."[/size]
    [size=45]The statement confirmed, "The Directorate of Water Resources in the Al-Musayyab project continues its work by organizing the tower of 4 Brij, with the aim of controlling water distributions, achieving justice and delivering water to the people."[/size]
    [size=45]He pointed out, "The General Authority for the Operation and Maintenance of the Tigris River Basin, the Directorate of Water Resources in Najaf, the Water Resources Division in Al-Hurriya is cooperating with the Mechanisms Department of the Directorate, to purify the Abu Halan River, located in the Al-Hurriya district, by raising the mud sediments in order to secure the arrival of water. Drinking and water rations for the orchards located in the rivers.[/size]
    [size=45]And the statement added, "The Directorate of Maintenance of Irrigation and Drainage Projects in Dhi Qar Governorate continues the work of cleaning and disinfecting the paths of the Hammar Marsh from reed plants and removing mud sediments in order to achieve a high flow of water towards the marshes."[/size]
    [size=45]He stated, "The Center for Engineering Studies and Designs / Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and the Department of General Supervision and Laboratory Tests in Basra, continues its work by conducting on-site inspection of the work of implementing the Basra Pipeline Water Project."[/size]
    [size=45]The statement stated, "The Center for Engineering Studies and Designs, Department of General Supervision and Laboratory Tests in Wasit, is currently conducting laboratory tests for the Al-Roudan Canal lining project, and examining the degree of limit of dirt spells / the tenth layer, which is implemented by the Directorate of Irrigation and Drainage Projects Maintenance in Wasit."[/size]
    [size=45]He stressed, "The staff of the Water Resources Directorate in Wasit / Water Resources Division in Zubaidi and Dabouni, are working to follow up and implement the Marashnah system for all pumps within the boundaries of each division, with the aim of regulating water distributions fairly, providing raw water for all liquefaction complexes and securing the prescribed water quotas."[/size]
    [size=45]And he spoke about the "General Authority for Dams and Reservoirs holding a technical meeting in the Mosul Dam project, which included the staff working in the dam and the specialized engineering staff at the Commission's center, and a number of international experts specialized in the field of dams."[/size]
    [size=45]And the statement went on, that "the meeting took place during which the ongoing work in the dam was discussed, including the filling and safety of the dam, and the most important obstacles and ways to find effective solutions to them, and the adoption of a work mechanism that ensures the progress of work as planned in this important facility, which is the largest dam in Iraq."[/size]
    [size=45]The government media cell warned, earlier, of the exacerbation of the drought crisis in Iraq, during the current autumn, and spoke of more threats to winter agriculture.[/size]
    [size=45]The cell quoted, in a statement received by (Al-Mada), “the Ministry of Water Resources’ call on the water consumers, especially the Ministry of Agriculture, agricultural associations, local governments, the Ministry of Housing, Construction, Municipalities and Public Works, and the Municipality of Baghdad, to take a serious stand to confront water scarcity by rationalizing its consumption.”[/size]
    [size=45]The statement added, "The ministry, according to its follow-up to a set of weather forecasts for the current fall via specialized satellites, all indicate that the current fall will be a dry fall, which will increase threats regarding winter agriculture and portend a drought wave and for the fourth season in a row, which will increase risks and threats regarding winter agriculture."[/size]
    [size=45]He pointed out that "the ministry called on everyone, whether water-consuming sectoral institutions or citizens, to rationalize consumption to overcome the current crisis that the whole world and Iraq in particular are going through, and for the purpose of securing the delivery of water to liquefaction stations."[/size]
    [size=45]The statement called on government institutions and citizens not to throw industrial waste, pollutants, sewage and waste into the main and secondary river sections in order to preserve the river environment and the health of the citizen.[/size]
