Baghdad / Obelisk: Masoud Haider, advisor to the President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Masoud Barzani, announced on Thursday, October 20, 2022, that the Kurdish forces will obtain four ministries, including the foreign ministry, likely to pass half the government of Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani in the parliamentary session to be held on Saturday next.
Haidar said, in a statement that the obelisk followed, that "the vote on the cabinet line-up for the government of Muhammad Shi'a Al-Sudani has been set for next Saturday," expecting "a vote on half of the cabinet line-up if the differences between the Shiite political forces regarding the distribution of quotas are not resolved."
He added that "the Kurds will get four ministries in the next government, which are represented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Reconstruction, the Environment, and Justice," stressing that "the Sudanese government will not succeed in resolving the outstanding problems unless the political forces abide by their agreements."
Haidar added, "These agreements include building a federal state, forming the Federation Council, solving outstanding problems between Baghdad and Erbil, implementing Article 140 of the constitution, developing the Sunni provinces, and leaving the armed forces out of city centers.
