    Today, Friday, the Federal Integrity Commission called for expediting the launch of the electronic passport project that conforms to international standards. For his contribution to eliminating the phenomenon of civil offices, while it suggested the establishment of an electronic window between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Passports to avoid delays in issuing it to citizens abroad.
    A report by the Authority's Prevention Department stated, according to a statement, that "the department's team made visits to the General Passports Directorate and (23) of the passport departments in Baghdad and its affiliated departments in the governorates, to monitor negative phenomena that may lead to the use of bribes, urging them to "work To create an electronic window for communication between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Passports Directorate, to avoid delays in completing the issuance of passports to citizens residing abroad, which are received in large numbers by embassies.
    The report, a copy of which was sent to the Office of the Prime Minister, the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Interior, indicated, according to the statement, “the urgent need to provide the required quantities of raw materials after the shortage of material was detected (the passport book before printing), which leads to delays in the delivery of passports to citizens. Pointing to "the necessity of providing the departments with specialized technical cadres and modern computers."
    The report recommended, “providing logistical support to all passport departments, and working to open new departments in the governorates that witness a great momentum in the number of auditors, especially in Basra and Nineveh, to avoid delays in completing transactions, which may open the door for paying bribes, as well as finding alternative places. In the governorates of Dhi Qar, Anbar, Muthanna and Maysan, to ensure that the best service is provided to the auditors.
    The statement continued, "The report noted the lack of investigative councils that were resolved during the current year, as their number reached (4) councils out of (27), and the reason for this is due to the lack of commitment by the council heads to resolve them on a specific date, in addition to the fact that the passport departments In Baghdad and the governorates, there are civil offices that fill out the passport form, which is an “uncivilized phenomenon” and a means of blackmail, in addition to the presence of monitors who exploit the citizen, and the limited number of data entry outlets.
    The report suggested that intelligence employees in the passport departments check the names of the reviewers on passport issuance transactions and indicate this in the records, to ensure that the convicts do not obtain a passport, pointing out that “the intelligence employee is not permanently present at the passports departments, which leads to a lack of auditing.” treatment by him.
    And he stressed, "One of the teams that visited the passports departments in the governorates was able to monitor and implement the process of arresting an employee and the owner of a kiosk in flagrante delicto, while receiving the bribe amount from citizens, in exchange for expediting the completion of their transactions."
