Today, Friday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani directed to improve the quality of the ration card materials and to adhere to the distribution dates.
A statement issued by the Prime Minister's Media Office said, "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani chaired today, Friday, a meeting on the ration card, which included Trade Minister Atheer Daoud Salman, and a number of officials on this file."
At the beginning of the meeting, Al-Sudani stressed the need to pay attention to the ration card, on which the poor and low-income citizens depend mainly, in light of the significant rise in food prices in global markets.
The Prime Minister stressed, according to the statement, that "the government's duty is to secure food for these groups in a stable manner, by providing the ration card items and to be distributed at regular times, in order to achieve security and social stability and alleviate these groups."
The Prime Minister directed the Ministry of Commerce to improve the quality of foodstuffs and adhere to the distribution dates. He also directed to conduct a study aimed at increasing the card's vocabulary and reducing its prices.
