Today, Monday, the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan hinted at a possible waiver of one of the two remaining ministerial portfolios, in exchange for other positions.
“Until now, a delegation from the Kurdistan Democratic Party has not visited us, or we have been informed of the date of the visit,” said the leader of the Union, Ghiath Surji, in a press interview seen by Taqaddam, referring to their insistence on “obtaining one of the two remaining ministries, and most likely we want to obtain the Ministry of Environment.”
He added, "Despite the depth of the dispute that occurred between us, we hope that this dispute will be resolved, and if concessions and discussions take place, there may be a relinquishment of the ministerial portfolio in front of other positions, but until now we are sticking to the portfolio of the Ministry of Environment."
