    Today, Wednesday, the Ministry of Commerce announced the near completion of the preparation of the tenth food basket and the preparation of the eleventh, and while it indicated the arrival of strategic storage materials for the first months of next year, it revealed two studies related to the food basket.
    The assistant general manager of the General Company for Foodstuff Trade, one of the companies affiliated with the ministry, Taleb Abbas Al-Hamdani, said, “The company is about to complete the processing of the tenth food basket, which was cut off to agents on November 6, as the processing rate reached nearly 90%, in addition to To prepare the eleventh basket, which it is hoped to launch at the beginning of next December.
    Al-Hamdani pointed out, "The arrival of strategic storage materials for the first months of next year, as rice ships are still arriving at the port, in addition to the rest of the food basket items of edible oil, sugar, legumes, and tomato paste."
    He added, "There is continuous follow-up and correspondence to the concerned authorities to prepare a complete study to improve the food basket, according to the directives of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani, and within the government program that requires adding various foodstuffs and continuing their processing in the next year, while providing financial funding allocations for them."
    And he continued: "There is also a study to add two baskets for social care, so that it will be 12 food baskets per year during the next year, as well as strengthening financial funding to add other materials, including infant formula and zero flour, and increasing sugar, and continuing to supply the food basket at its specified times to be an integrated basket of all materials and import them from The best global companies and origins.
    And he pointed out, "Next year, ten food baskets will be distributed, but social care will be excluded by distributing 12 baskets, meaning that distribution will continue for them throughout the entire year."
