The United Nations envoy, Jenin Plasschaert, confirmed today, Wednesday, after meeting with the supreme authority, Ali Al-Sistani, that after four years I feel that I am Iraqi and that I am here because of the importance of the Shiite pillar in Iraq and the world.
Blaskhart said in a press conference after meeting the Grand Ayatollah Sistani, "We are here today in Najaf on a special day in which we discussed the importance of the Sayyid's wisdom, sympathy, and support for the diversity of components and peaceful coexistence, in the presence of my colleague Michael Moretinos, and like every time I express my gratitude for meeting with His Eminence."
She added, "After four years, I feel that I am Iraqi and that I am here because of the importance of the Shiite pillar in Iraq and in the world."

The High Representative of the Alliance of Civilizations, Angel Mikel Moretinos, said during the conference, "For me, it is a great and important day, and my presence in a big city like Najaf to meet my master, and I was honored to meet a world religious leader for his wisdom and leadership, and he is one of the leaders who was praised by the Security Council and he calls for moderation."
