A parliamentarian complains to the Minister of Finance: She does not allow us to enter the ministry (documents)

Shafaq News/ A member of the Iraqi Parliament submitted, on Wednesday, a complaint to the Presidency of the Council against the Minister of Finance, Taif Sami, accusing her of not allowing him to enter the ministry's building, while the Speaker of the Council, Muhammad al-Halbousi, directed "to take appropriate measures."
Representative Ahmed Majeed Al-Shoumani said in a complaint he submitted to the Presidency of Parliament, which was obtained by Shafaq News Agency, and it stated, "We kindly ask you to agree to accept the complaint submitted by us against the Ministry of Finance, represented by the minister, for not allowing us to enter and follow up on the dues of oppressed segments, as we are representatives of the Iraqi people." Noting, "We did not want to meet the minister, but rather follow up on the issues of some groups and state employees in the budget and accounting department."
The deputy asked the Presidency of Parliament, "to take legal measures with the ministry to prevent a recurrence of this situation."
For his part, the director of the office of the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Fahd Rasool Al-Jaf, responded, in an official letter, obtained by Shafaq News Agency, that "based on Article 61 of the Iraqi constitution and Article 27 / Ninth of the House of Representatives Law and its formations No. 13 of 2018 and the complaint received by the deputy Ahmed Hamid Al-Shoumani, the Deputy Speaker of the Council directed that the ministry and all state departments be committed to receiving members of the House of Representatives and providing all facilities to perform their oversight duties and review the good conduct and application of the provisions of the constitution, law, regulations, instructions and decisions in force, otherwise legal measures are taken with the violating party.
The Vice-Chairman of the Council also asked the Ministry of Finance to provide him with the reasons for not allowing the deputy to enter the Ministry's building and to take action with the defaulting party.
