    Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Shakhwan Abdullah, confirmed today, Wednesday, that workers are an important segment, and their rights must be guaranteed by the laws in force.
    And the media office of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives stated in a statement received by (Al-Oula News) that, “Abdullah received, in his office in Baghdad, the head of the Central National Federation of Iraqi Trade Unions, Yusra Al-Hashimi, with a number of members of the union.”
    The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives referred to "the status of workers and the role of this working and toiling class in society, and they are the pillars and the basis for achieving development and prosperity."
    He added, "Workers are an important segment because they are the pillars of construction, and their rights must be guaranteed by the laws in force," noting that "the House of Representatives supports endeavors and efforts aimed at supporting workers and alleviating their suffering, and striving to protect their material and moral rights with legislation.
    The statement continued, "The meeting included a discussion of the retirement and social security law and the activation of Iraqi Labor Law No. 37 of 2015."
