Earth News/ The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hakim Al-Zamili, confirmed today, Sunday, Parliament's determination to support the productive sectors to secure job opportunities for all Iraqis, while noting that the scourge of corruption prevented the country's economic growth.
Al-Zamili said in a statement received by "Earth News", "We congratulate the workers of Iraq and the world on their annual holiday, which falls on May 1 of each year," considering them "the basis that contributed to building the world's civilizations, and what the two countries witnessed in terms of construction, progress and prosperity."
Al-Zamili stressed that “the House of Representatives is keen to legislate laws that guarantee the rights of all kinds of workers, and is determined to issue legislation that would develop the private and public sectors, and revive the industrial and agricultural fields, with the aim of securing decent and sufficient job opportunities for all Iraqi youth.”
He added, "The scourge of corruption has prevented the country's economic, social, urban, service, health and scientific growth," noting that "the next battle will be against this scourge, so that society can enjoy its benefits, unemployment is eliminated, the living reality is improved and the service aspects are revitalized as a whole."
