Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani affirmed today, Monday, that the government program has set a special priority to advance the reality of education, while noting that Iraq still needs 8,000 school buildings.

The media office of the Prime Minister said in a statement, "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani inaugurated, this morning, the middle school of the nobles in the second Karkh Education Directorate, as part of a celebration that included the opening of 42 school buildings, throughout the education directorates in Baghdad Governorate."

And he added, "Al-Sudani was alive, raising the flag of Iraq in the yard of the building, and the start of the official working hours in the school, which is one of the 42 new schools that were opened today simultaneously in all the districts of Baghdad governorate and its environs, and 87 of them were completed and studies began during this year as well." He announced the start of the implementation of 250 schools during the next year within the plan of the province of Baghdad.

Al-Sudani stressed, "It is not possible to bring about a radical renaissance in the country and achieve real development in services unless the reform of the educational process begins, which faces a major problem represented in the scarcity of school buildings, triple and quadruple shifts, in addition to the presence of caravan and mud schools in some areas. The government program is a special priority for the advancement of education."

He explained that "the next budget law will include the establishment of the Iraq Fund for Development, and it has sub-funds allocated for housing and education," noting that "Iraq still needs eight thousand school buildings."

Al-Sudani directed "the Minister of Education to pay attention to the educational and educational staff, and to involve them in real development courses, as well as the constant need to review the curricula, in accordance with the standards of modernization and UNESCO."

It is noteworthy that the middle school of the nobles was one of the Caravani schools that were demolished, and a regular school building was built in its place with typical specifications.
