The President of the Republic: Plans to start strategic projects

Yesterday, Wednesday, the President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, announced plans to start strategic projects such as completing the port of Faw and others, and working to resolve the file of the displaced, while he called on the Arab ambassadors working in Baghdad to encourage companies from their countries to work and invest in Iraq.
The President of the Republic received, at the Baghdad Palace, the Minister of State in the German Foreign Ministry, Tobias Lindner, and the Head of the Department of Bilateral and European Relations with Iraq, Stefan Schneck. During the meeting, they discussed the joint Iraqi-German relations.
Rashid stressed, according to a presidential statement, "the need to develop bilateral relations that bring the two countries together in many basic fields, especially economic and cultural," pointing to "the need to develop relations in a way that serves the interests of the two countries and peoples."
He pointed to "the need to maintain stability and security in the next stage, as we seek to build advanced relations with neighboring countries," noting that "the current government has a ministerial program that places in its priorities the upgrading of services provided to citizens, and there are long-term plans to start strategic projects." Such as oil and gas, and the completion of the large port of Faw and other facilities such as railways, so that Iraq will be the link between the Gulf and European countries.
He touched on the situation in the city of Sinjar, noting "the presence of large numbers of displaced people, and work to resolve the file of the displaced once and for all by returning them to suitable areas after creating the appropriate environment for them in terms of services and security."
For his part, Tobias Lindner affirmed, "Germany's commitment to support the security and stability of Iraq and the safety of its citizens, and its aspiration to strengthen joint relations with Iraq in various fields, and support Iraq's return to its important role in the region and the world," noting that "his country supports efforts to rebuild the city of Sinjar and restore the displaced.”
The President of the Republic also received, at the Baghdad Palace, the Commander of the Joint Forces Command in Naples, General Sturt Muench, and the Commander of the NATO Mission in Iraq, General Giovanni Anucci.
Rashid stressed, according to a statement, that "Iraq seeks to develop its military and intelligence capabilities in cooperation with friends in order to consolidate security and stability in Iraqi cities, in a way that enhances its efforts in combating terrorism and eliminating its hotbeds."
He pointed out that "the capital, Baghdad, and the rest of the Iraqi cities are witnessing an improvement and security stability during the last two years, which contributes to the success of the government's program, to which we provide procedural facilities to implement its program, especially with regard to important strategic projects, which reflected positively on public life, as it witnessed a development in Providing the necessary services and rehabilitating the infrastructure.
He stressed, "Seeking to improve conditions by attracting investments and advancing the reality of the Iraqi economy, especially the project to develop and expand the industrial city of Fao, modernize transportation, petrochemical industries and renewable energy, stop burning gas and benefit from it industrially, in addition to hosting conferences and sports festivals, improving the reality of education and reforming the path of this sector." In turn, the commander of the Joint Forces Command in Naples expressed "NATO's desire to consolidate relations with Iraq in the next stage," stressing "the importance of joint work and coordination to combat terrorism, and the need for the mission to communicate with various Iraqi authorities in a way that contributes to the success of its missions in Iraq."
The President of the Republic, Abd al-Latif Jamal Rashid, received the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, Ahmed Fakak al-Badrani.
Rashid emphasized, "The importance of allocating a public park in the name of the martyrs that includes statues and pictures of those who sacrificed their lives for the sake of their homeland and their principles, and choosing a distinguished site for it to perpetuate this constellation that made great sacrifices."
He also referred to "the need to open cultural centers for youth in Baghdad and the provinces, and to revive the work of public libraries in order to embrace young people and develop their literary, artistic and sports talents." Enriching the cultural movement globally.
The President of the Republic also received a number of ambassadors of Arab countries accredited to Iraq.
Rashid stressed that "Iraq has promising investment opportunities, but we need to rehabilitate the infrastructure and we should coordinate and cooperate with Arab countries to create an investment environment in Iraq," noting that "Iraq needs bilateral and tripartite cooperation in this field with our Arab brothers."
He expressed his hope for "approving the budget during the coming period, which has not been approved for three years, causing delays in the completion of vital projects," calling on "Arab ambassadors to encourage companies in their countries for the purpose of investing in Iraq
