    Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein affirmed, today, Saturday, that Iraq's relationship with Morocco will witness a new generation of diplomatic interaction, while indicating that Morocco has lifted the seizure of Iraqi funds for the Al-Rashid and Al-Rafidian banks.


    The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that "a round of in-depth discussions took place between Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein and his Moroccan counterpart Nasser Bourita at the ministry's headquarters," pointing out that "the two sides stressed the importance of convening the joint Iraqi-Moroccan committee, deepening political consultation and finding open mechanisms to confirm the dynamism of the two countries' diplomacy and through the consultation mechanism." ".






    She added, "The two ministers also stressed that the Kingdom of Morocco's step in opening its embassy will be a starting point for a partnership that is consistent with the size of the historical relations between the two sides," noting that "the two sides stressed the importance of bilateral cooperation and exchange of support within the multilateral mechanisms that will witness mutual support and that the relationship will reflect investment and development ambitions." for the two countries.”

    The ministry pointed out that "Minister Fouad Hussein confirmed that the relationship with Morocco will witness a new generation of diplomatic interaction," noting that "Iraq plays a pivotal role in the region and looks forward with interest to the African region."


    In turn, the Moroccan Foreign Minister stressed "the importance of stimulating the economic relationship and overcoming the difficulties facing it in accordance with legal frameworks."

    He continued, "The forums for businessmen and investors between Baghdad and Rabat will take their course between the two brotherly countries, and that the discussions include activating the tourism sector," noting that "the common market between Baghdad and Rabat will be a view of further openness."

    And she indicated that "Iraq and Morocco are discussing the possibility of activating the direct air line between the two countries," noting that "Morocco agreed to lift the seizure of Iraqi funds for the Rasheed and Rafidain banks."

    She explained that "a memorandum of understanding will be signed between the Foreign Service Institute and the Moroccan Diplomatic Academy."
