The head of the Holy Karbala Chamber of Industry revealed that the reality of the Iraqi industry is bitter and needs all efforts to be combined for its advancement, indicating that external and internal parties are working to thwart the Iraqi industry, government measures and many problems that the local industry suffers from.
And the head of the Karbala Chamber of Industry, Kazem Jawad Al Yassin, stated in an interview with the Noon news agency that "The Federation of Iraqi Industries is an ancient federation established in 1956 before the establishment of the Ministry of Industry in Iraq, and since then it has been practicing the task of regulating the work of industrial projects, and it has eleven types of industries and the last law issued in 2002 authorized the establishment of industrial chambers. After conducting its own elections, we have in Holy Karbala a Chamber of Industry with a Board of Directors consisting of seven members, and they are the most among the rest of the provincial chambers. It includes different industries such as food, paper, engineering, construction and chemical. Medium and large, and we have well-known industrial zones such as the old industrial zone in Ma’malji, Freiha, Al-Hur, the industrial district, scattered factories, and other industrial projects in agricultural areas, which is the big problem because the lands are not expropriated for project owners, and this is a great injustice because (95) percent of our projects are located within the borders of the municipalityOwners of industrial projects pay rents to the municipality.

He added that "the industrialist needs loans to finance his work because the industrial cycle needs time between providing raw materials, production and marketing that extends for months or seasons and needs financing. By guaranteeing the factory and its fixed assets, whose land is owned by the owner of the project, and I demand ownership of the industrial lands to revitalize the industry in Iraq,” stressing that “There is a war against the failure of industry in Iraq, the simplest of which is supplying fuel for factories (gas oil) at a commercial price of (850) dinars per liter, while it is sold to the citizen for (450) dinars, and fuel affects the owners of factories and their production because national electricity is not available, which forces them to operate generators It adds huge costs to the value of the product, not to mention the loss of electricity and our subjection to programmed cuts, knowing that the industrialist is the partner of the state, and after the American occupation of Iraq, industry, trade and agriculture were destroyed, and work became short in government jobs that deplete the funds of the annual budgets, and Iraq is a rentier economy dependent on Oil only, and the policy of dumping the market and random imports, and there is no protection for the producer or the consumer, and with the loss of ownership of industrial land, loans, fuel, electricity and other facilities, the Iraqi industry cannot compete with the foreign importer, and competition is not achieved except with state sponsorship of the industry.
Al-Yassin explained that "there are two parties that do not want the Iraqi industry to rise, an external party represented by many countries benefiting from the current situation, and Iraq has become a large market for it to market its various products and drain hard currency, and an internal party that benefits from random imports and the policy of dumping the market, money laundering, currency smuggling, commissions, and because the product The local price is fixed and cannot be manipulated, just as the state has a hand in delaying the rise of the industry by sabotaging the economic system by creating a disparity between the public and private sectors by giving priority to the public sector with salaries and privileges, knowing that the public sector is flabby with public hands and has convinced and non-profit unemployment. until "The holy province of Karbala possesses old and distinguished industries and is considered a successful environment if the pillars of success are available to it, as was the case in the past with the existence of central planning and industrial development that centrally controls the distribution of factories and laboratories in the provinces and grants licenses for their establishment according to the needs of the province or a group of close provinces, and from which all factories become profitable, and what is required Protecting the product with decisions that apply and prevent the import of what is produced in Iraq or impose customs duties on the importer so that the price does not hit the local product and preserve the hard currency and provide job opportunities for the local labor force and protect the consumer from inferior goods and at low prices that affect the local product, or imported in a specific quantity that does not affect to market the local product.
Regarding the projects of the two holy shrines, Al Yassin stressed that "their projects are distinguished and good, and their capabilities are great and attract professional working experiences. I hope that they will go to strategic projects that support the local industry, including pharmaceutical projects and others such as Fadak and wheat farms, and I see that they will develop in the future."
