Today, Tuesday, the Federal Integrity Commission announced that the field teams that it formed in Baghdad and the provinces carried out seizure operations in a number of branches of the General Commission for Taxes, indicating that (15) suspects were arrested in the provinces of Nineveh, Anbar and Wasit.
Speaking about the operations carried out by those teams, according to a statement by the commission, the Commission’s Investigation Department indicated that “the field team in the Nineveh Investigation Directorate seized the official of the fifth unit in the General Commission for Taxes / Nineveh / Al-Yasr branch, and two other employees in the department, for keeping the original transactions.” For citizens, contrary to tax instructions, in addition to seizing (4) commentators in the right-hand Nineveh branch in possession of original tax accounting files, including files belonging to companies, without a legal basis, with the seizure of six million dinars in their possession.
The department confirmed, "The field team at the Commission's investigation office in Anbar seized an employee of the Ramadi Tax Department, because it was proven that he had received sums of money from auditors in exchange for completing their transactions, in addition to seizing (5) commentators in the Fallujah and Karma tax branches, for commenting on transactions without an official agency."
