The Investigation Department of the Federal Integrity Commission announced today, Thursday, that its staff in the Diyala Investigation Office carried out 3 seizures of cases of embezzlement and manipulation in the electricity circuits in the province.
In a statement received by Mawazine News, the department said, "The Diyala Investigation Office team managed to seize the director of the Hibhab Electricity Maintenance Center, for embezzling the lighting fixtures of the Hibhab district, and organizing more than 6 transactions and receiving materials according to them," indicating that "the accused handed over those The materials were sent to the offices of a number of members of the House of Representatives and influential people, in an illegal manner.
And she continued, "A transaction that was organized and promoted by the accused was seized and the materials were delivered to a worker in the office of a deputy for the governorate," noting that "these materials were not entered into the department's stores, in addition to seizing transactions for the exchange of transformers based on the directives of candidates for the House of Representatives elections that took place." It took place in 2021, for the purpose of using it in electoral propaganda, and seizing a book explaining the division of transformers delivered to the maintenance center as shares between deputies, for use in electoral propaganda.
The department added, "The team that carried out follow-up, investigation, and audit work in the Diyala Electricity Distribution Department managed to uncover (4) (fake) warehouse exchange documents for copper wire materials, poles, and lighting fixtures," pointing out that "storekeepers spent the materials and delivered them to unknown persons." And claiming that it was equipped with maintenance centers after forging and distorting the signatures of the officials of those centers.
She explained that "violations were detected by employees in the office of the Director of Diyala Electricity Distribution and other unauthorized employees," noting that "the aforementioned opened a record of work orders in the maintenance centers in the Great Dam, Al-Khalis, and Hibhab in violation of the controls and instructions."
