Today, Monday, the Finance Committee in Parliament confirmed that the agreements with Germany and France will contribute to improving energy and implementing the associated gas project.
Committee member Moein Al-Kazemi said, “Al-Sudani’s visits are important, the most important of which is the visit to Germany, which witnessed the signing of an agreement with Siemens, and this agreement will naturally turn into a contract with the approval of the 2023 budget, given that the government has included in the 2023 budget the amounts required to sign this contract, and to initiate the agreed projects.” It has with Siemens regarding the combined cycles of electricity, stations, maintenance, transportation, production, etc. These are important and essential projects. This visit is considered productive and important.”
He added, "The visit to France is also important, which was related to the associated gas project or oil wells and other matters that were agreed upon in the previous government."
Al-Kazemi stressed, "These visits would establish a strong relationship between Iraq and the European Union, and that there would be reassurance from the countries of the world about the political system regarding the electricity sector, and yesterday there was an agreement with the American General Company, and before that it was with the Siemens company."
And he indicated that “these contracts include the subject of production, transportation and distribution, and some of these contracts need years for implementation.”
