Earth News / Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein chaired today, Monday, the seventh session of 2023 of the Ministerial Council for Economy.
And the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, in a statement received by Earth News, that “Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein chaired today, Monday, February 27, 2023, the seventh meeting of the Ministerial Council for Economy, in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning, and the ministers of finance, agriculture, labor and public affairs. Social Affairs, the Secretary General of the Council of Ministers, the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, the Chairman of the National Investment Commission, and the Prime Minister’s advisors for economic and legal affairs.
He added, "The council hosted the Minister of Health and the Director General of the General Company for Drug Marketing to discuss facilitating the work of the health sector and providing medicines, medical supplies, and modern laboratories to advance the health situation."
The council discussed the economic issues on its agenda and took many economic decisions regarding them.
The Council also hosted the technical agent of the Ministry of Agriculture and took a decision to support the local product of table eggs by urging the Ministry of Commerce to contract with local producers under contracts concluded between them to purchase the product in the event that the prices of table eggs fall below the average costs of local production while supporting vaccines, medicines and fodder through the recommendation to reduce fees imposed on them.
