The Parliamentary Oil, Gas and Natural Resources Committee revealed, on Wednesday, the Ministry of Oil's intention to establish new refineries and rehabilitate the old ones, stressing that increasing their numbers will cover the country's need for derivatives, which annually provides the country with 1.5 billion dollars.
Committee member Zainab Al-Moussawi said, "The Ministry of Oil is seeking to increase the number of new refineries and rehabilitate the old ones," noting that "there are 14 refineries currently in Iraq, two of which are under construction, one in Al-Faw district in Basra and the other within Anbar province," according to the newspaper. official.
