Member of the House of Representatives, Mahma Khalil Ali Agha, revealed today, Sunday, the existence of a current within Parliament working to thwart the "government's achievements" with regard to the budget for the next three years.
Ali Agha said, in a statement received by (Baghdad Today), that "this movement does not constitute a figure in front of the national consensus within the House of Representatives determined to vote on the three-year budget law, but it is trying to confuse the media for personal purposes that have nothing to do with the professional evaluation of the budget."
He added, "There are some deputies who come out with false information to inform the media about this budget, in a way that reveals the existence of hidden intentions and goals to thwart this budget, which is a remarkable achievement for this government."
He continued, "The budget remarkably took into account the rights of all Iraqi components, and included many files that are in the interest of the citizen, in all Iraqi governorates," noting that "any attempt to thwart the passage of this budget will not succeed in light of the national consensus on it."
The member of the House of Representatives explained, "Some deputies base their negative statements on unprofessional grounds that include lies, in a failed attempt to stir up the street against the government and the House of Representatives, and this in itself is unprofessional behavior that works to disrupt the interests of the Iraqi people for personal and partisan ends."
