An agreement to implement projects in the poorest areas

The Ministry of Planning agreed with the World Bank to prepare mechanisms to accelerate the implementation of service projects in the poorest regions and villages.
A statement issued by the ministry stated: The Minister of Planning, Muhammad Ali Tamim, discussed with the representative of the World Bank in Iraq, Richard Abdel Nour, a number of issues related to joint cooperation between Iraq and the Bank.
He added that the discussions focused on working mechanisms in implementing service projects in the poorest regions and villages, which are being implemented by the Ministry of Planning, within the Social Fund for Development funded by a loan from the World Bank, and the two parties agreed to work jointly to develop appropriate mechanisms that would accelerate the pace of work in completing These projects are due to the importance they represent in enabling the people of the covered villages to obtain basic services.
The meeting also witnessed, according to the statement, a discussion of joint work between the Ministries of Planning and Finance and the World Bank to develop appropriate mechanisms and instructions that would address and overcome all problems facing the implementation of projects funded by the World Bank and international organizations.
In another context, the spokesman for the Ministry of Planning, Abdul Zahra Al-Hindawi, said: The ministry is carrying out a qualitative survey of micro, small and medium enterprises in the governorates of Babil, Dhi Qar and Kirkuk.
