    Shafaq News/ Iraqi car sales declined in the first quarter by 1.8% from the same period of the previous year, while Toyota was at the forefront of sales in the country.
    Focus 2 Move, a company specialized in providing data on car markets, stated, in a report seen by Shafaq News agency, that "last March witnessed the purchase of 6,238 new cars, with a decrease of (19.4%) compared to the same month of last year 2022," indicating that " The purchase of 19,080 cars was recorded in the first quarter (January, February and March) of the current year 2023, a decrease of 1.8% compared to the same period of last year 2022.



    The company added, “In terms of cumulative data for the first quarter of the year 2023 at the brand level, (Toyota) cars took the lead, with 5,209 cars sold this year, an increase of (18.6%) over 2022, followed by (Kia) second. whose total sales amounted to 4,050 cars, a decrease of (38.5%).
    She explained that “(Hyundai) ranked third with 2,570 new registration cars, an increase of (336%) over the year 2022, and then (MGV) came in fourth place with 1,843 cars, an increase of (77.2%), and (Chevrolet) cars came in the rank Fifth with 1182 cars, an increase of (47.4%), and (Suzuki) cars came sixth, with an increase of (1323.2%), and (Chinese Changan) cars came in seventh place with 583 cars, an increase of (49.5%).
    And she continued that the (Haval) car came in the eighth place with 385 sales cars, an increase of (34.6%), followed by the (Great Wall) car in the ninth place with 355 cars, an increase of (12.3%), and the (GMC) car came, closing the top ten positions with 294 new registrations, a decrease of 14.0%.
    And it showed that looking at certain models, "Kia Frontier" remains the best seller in Iraq despite losing 30.5% in annual sales, followed by "Toyota Hilux", up one point and 41.0%.
