Today, Tuesday, the Ministry of Agriculture announced the start of the electronic farmer card project, while clarifying the details and objectives of the project.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry, Mahdi Sahar, said, in an interview with the Iraqi News Agency, which was followed by "Al-Iqtisad News", that "the Ministry of Agriculture has initiated the electronic card project for the farmer and the agricultural investor, which is one of the sponsors of the Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani within the government curriculum, as well as within the Ministry's program for the year (2023-2023). 2024), stressing that "the electronic card will reduce the burden on farms, simplify administrative procedures, reduce red tape, and deliver agricultural support to those who deserve it directly, away from speculation and others."
He explained, "The electronic farmer card will contain all information and data related to the farmer and the agricultural investor, in order for each farmer to have an integrated database. Farmers, deducting or paying land rent, production requirements, fertilizers, seeds and fodder, in addition to providing agricultural loans through that card.
He pointed out that "the electronic card contains several objectives, including providing accurate agricultural statistics, targeting those who are eligible for agricultural support, and financial transactions for farmers with departments and companies of the ministry or other ministries, in addition to its role in monitoring and monitoring the implementation of agricultural plans and agricultural projects, both plant and animal, and the possibility of drawing up an agricultural policy." realistic based on accurate statistics.
