Shafaq News/ The Jordanian National Electricity Company announced, on Thursday, that it will be ready to connect with Iraq next August.

The director of the Jordanian National Electric Power Company, Amjad Al-Rawashdeh, said, in a statement reported by Jordanian media, seen by Shafaq News Agency, that "the interconnection project with Iraq is proceeding as planned, as the first phase on the Jordanian side ends next August."
Last May, the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity announced that the connection with Jordan would be put into service at the beginning of next July. The project aims, in its first phase, to supply Iraq with 150 megawatts, to rise to 500 megawatts in the second phase, and 900 megawatts in the third.
