    Information / Baghdad...
The former member of the Parliamentary Oil and Energy Committee, Ghaleb Muhammad Ali, revealed the reasons for the rise in fuel prices in the region, pointing out that fuel is sold at a commercial price that is not subsidized by the government due to decisions taken 8 years ago.

Ali told Al-Maalooma, "The region is not managed by a government, but rather there is a group of spoilers, which made the citizens of Kurdistan suffer from high fuel prices," stressing the need to "support the region by the federal government with its share of fuel."
He added, "The rise in fuel prices in the region is due to a previous decision taken by the head of the regional government, Nechirvan Barzani, after a dispute with the federal government in 2014, and as a result he decided to sell oil without referring to the federal government."
And that "the regional government, after it made its decision, it began to sell oil without any subsidies, which made the price of fuel high compared to other provinces."
He pointed out that "the decision to lift subsidies on oil in the region was taken on the first of January 2015, and the decision was taken by the Minister of Natural Resources and the aforementioned Prime Minister with Qubad Talabani, and therefore the fuel is sold at the commercial price." ended 25 n
