Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, confirmed on Saturday that the Iraqi side is working to complete the necessary preparations for the visit of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani to the Russian capital, Moscow, during the next few weeks.
The ministry stated in a statement, a copy of which Mawazine News received, that “Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, on the sidelines of his participation in the high-level week of meetings of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly.”
The statement added, "The two sides discussed prospects for joint cooperation and developing bilateral relations between the two countries."
The Foreign Minister confirmed that "the Iraqi side is working to complete the necessary preparations for the visit of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani to the Russian capital, Moscow, during the next few weeks."
He explained that "the discussions between the two sides during the visit will provide an appropriate opportunity to discuss bilateral cooperation in the political and economic fields, noting the possibility of holding a meeting of the joint Iraqi-Russian committee on the sidelines of this visit."
