Increase the salaries of retirees early next year

Finance Committee member Muhammad Nouri expects that early next year will witness an increase in the salaries of retirees.
Nouri told Al-Sabah that the announced increase in the salaries of retirees for the lower grades was halted due to the lack of cash flow to cover it, noting that work is underway to include it in the budget so that the salaries are compatible with the high cost of living.
He pointed out that the Finance Committee is waiting for there to be actual cash liquidity, especially after the economic crisis that we are witnessing as a result of the increase in the exchange rate of the dollar against the Iraqi dinar in the parallel market, expecting that the beginning of next year will witness an increase in the salaries of retirees.
Nouri explained that the increase will be given to those with the lowest grades to suit the cost of living, according to reports from the Ministry of Planning, pointing out that the increase, along with amending the salary scale up to the sixth grade, may cost the state more than 4.5 trillion dinars
