On Sunday, Minister of Transport Razzaq Muhaibes Al-Saadawi received the European Union Ambassador to Iraq, Thomas Seiler, to discuss prospects for cooperation between the two sides.
The ministry stated in a statement, "The meeting discussed ways to lift the European ban on the national carrier Iraq, and develop cooperation on transport issues in general."
The statement continued, "During the meeting, the minister reviewed the ministry's strategic plans and projects, and the development road project, which is of interest to countries in the region and the world."
The Minister of Transport stressed, "The Ministry has made important strides in the steps to begin implementing the development path, through which we seek to achieve economic integration between the countries of the region, and to create interconnection and less expensive means of transportation between the continents of Asia and Europe."
