    The Independent High Electoral Commission announced on Thursday its commitment to announce the election results within 24 hours.

    The head of the Electoral Administration at the Commission, Abbas Farhan Al-Fatlawi, said in a press interview, “The Commission has prepared a special timetable for the irregular governorate council elections in the region, which will be held on the eighteenth of next month,” noting that “the Commission has worked from the first moment to enact the law to Implementing the legal, technical and financial axes within the timetable and follow-up on their implementation by the Board of Commissioners continues.”
    He added, "One of the reputable international companies completed the examination of all electronic programs, including devices, servers, and the transmission medium, with the participation of governmental and parliamentary committees in this field. It is the same company that examined the devices in the 2021 House of Representatives elections."
    Al-Fatlawi renewed “the Commission’s call to spread awareness regarding participation in the elections,” stressing that “the Commission will support the element of balance and independence in the national entitlement.”
    He explained, “There are three procedures in the governorate council elections, which are the electoral system that was adopted (Saint-Lego) instead of the system that was used in the parliamentary elections, and there are 15 electoral districts in the new law,” considering that “each governorate is one district after there were 83.” A district by dividing the governorate into several districts, in addition to voting using a single, non-transferable vote system.

    He pointed out that "the law obliges the Commission to announce the results within 24 hours, and the Council took special measures to do so and overcome the mistakes that occurred in the past, and there is a possibility for the candidate to know the results he obtained through reports issued by the (BECOS) devices used in these elections at the governorate level before they are held." Officially announced by the Commission.
