The sheikhs and notables of Anbar Governorate warned, on Saturday, of an American plan to disrupt the security situation before holding the provincial council elections to spark a crisis.

Sheikh Abdul Hamid Al-Dulaimi, one of the sheikhs and notables of the city of Ramadi, said in a statement to the Al-Ma’louma Agency, “A new American plan looms on the horizon, the features of which have begun to appear through the statements of the American ambassador to Iraq, Elena Romanowski, and her blatant interference in Iraqi affairs in an attempt to confuse the political and security scenes before the procedure.” Council elections, not to mention the loudness of the voices demanding the departure of American forces from Iraq after they committed terrorist operations targeting the Popular Mobilization Forces.”
Al-Dulaimi added, "The new American plan would create a state of conflict and resort to the use of weapons between the political parties, shuffling the cards, and preoccupying the street with issues that draw attention away from the presence of its forces in Iraq and turning the compass of the situation to internal affairs."
He pointed out that “America is using its influence for the purpose of implementing its plans on the ground and creating the appropriate atmosphere to impose its will under unrealistic pretexts, and everyone must confront this plan with all available means,” stressing that “the new American plan aims to revive sectarian projects and paves the way for spreading chaos and clashes among its components.” Ended / 12a
