    Baghdad/Al-Masala Event: Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani chaired a meeting that included a delegation from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, in the presence of the Minister of Transport Razzaq Muhaibas Al-Saadawi and a number of government officials, to follow up on the agreement signed with the institution to rehabilitate and develop Baghdad International Airport.
    A statement from the media office of the Ministry of Transport said that Al-Sudani stressed during the meeting that the interest in developing Baghdad International Airport, which represents Iraq’s interface with the world, comes within a comprehensive vision adopted by the government to develop all airports and improve their services.
    The statement stated that the agreement includes presenting an integrated investment portfolio that includes how to expand, finance, operate and maintain the international airport, and make it compatible with international standards for airports in the world.
    The statement quoted the Minister of Transport as saying: The agreement aims to “raise the efficiency of the airport, its facilities and safety factors, and improve its services, to comply with international standards for airports in the world,” stressing that the ministry has begun studying the development of all the country’s airports because of their great importance as reception stations in front of airports. Countries of the world.
    Al-Saadawi confirmed that the Ministry has developed service and development plans, in preparation for assuming responsibility for airport management, which aims to provide the best services at airports.
    He noted that the Ministry has begun the procedures for the process of separating Iraqi airports from the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority and linking them to the Ministry in implementation of Cabinet Resolution No. (23689) of 2023, stressing the Ministry’s endeavor to address the obstacles facing the completion of procedures for linking Iraqi airports to the Ministry of Transport, in accordance with the legal contexts and government directives.
