The Interior Minister, Qassim al-Araji, arrived this morning to the province of Erbil.
"The objective of the visit is to see the progress of work at border crossings and airports, especially after the agreement to lift the ban on international flights at the airports of Kurdistan," said Interior Ministry Undersecretary Jalal Sheikh Karim.
The Prime Minister, Haider Abadi, issued on Tuesday, a decree ordering the reopening of the two airports in the Kurdistan region within a period of not more than a week, saying: "I told them that they can tomorrow or the day after the opening of the airports."
"We thank Mr. Abadi for lifting the ban on international flights at the airports of Kurdistan, and this step is correct and important and is the first on the right track, Promising and calling for the solution of the rest of the differences on the basis of the Constitution. "
