    The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities announced the implementation of the MasterPlan, which includes preparing a work plan for each governorate in its water and sanitation services sector.
    The Director General of the General Directorate of Water in the Ministry, Ammar Al-Maliki, said in a statement followed by Al-Iqtisad News: “The Ministry, as part of its endeavor to determine future plans for water and sanitation projects in the governorates, is currently preparing the Master Plan, which is the basic plan for the requirements of the water and sewer sectors in it.” .
    He stated that "the project includes preparing an action plan to study the actual current and future needs in each governorate in the areas of drinking water and sanitation, in three stages starting from five to 16 years," pointing out that "the goal of the plan is to develop a long-term strategic study on "The reality is to create infrastructure that includes multiple studies of all needs in these two sectors and in all governorates."
    Al-Maliki stated that “his directorate is working on preparing a feasibility study in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Planning based on the approved standards and specifications,” revealing that “his directorate has been instructed to intensify its efforts and improve its performance to obtain the highest quality of water and modernize the methods of filtration and sterilization in accordance with the instructions issued by the Central Agency for Standardization and Quality Control.” With increased continuous monitoring and examination of water quality in laboratories, especially after the implementation of the electronic water safety system.”
