The head of the Kurdistan Region Investment Authority, Dr. Muhammad Shukri, confirmed today, Thursday, that the Kurdistan Region has the ability to attract foreign investors.[/size]
[size=45]Shukri said in an interview: “The Kurdistan Region has the ability to attract many investors,” stressing that “the region has underground and surface wealth, in addition to fertile soil, fresh water, and tourist attractions.”[/size]
[size=45]He pointed out that “the Kurdistan Region will become an important place for foreign investors in the future, given the preparations currently being made in the Kurdistan Region.”[/size]
[size=45]He added: “We may not need foreign investors in all sectors, but there are some sectors that need foreign capital, such as major projects in economic infrastructure, roads and railways, in addition to building dams and factories and benefiting from minerals.”[/size]
[size=45]He stressed, “Data from the Ministry of Agriculture indicate that the Kurdistan Region possesses water and arable land, which are important factors for attracting foreign investors.”[/size]
[size=45]He explained, “We in the Investment Authority and the Prime Minister’s Office have made all preparations to receive foreign investors who wish to invest their money in Kurdistan.”[/size]
[size=45]Earlier, the head of the Kurdistan Region Investment Authority, Dr. Muhammad Shukri, said that 2023 was a model year for investment in the region.[/size]
[size=45]Shukri pointed out that, “In 2023, the Kurdistan Regional Government issued 154 investment licenses to the private sector, which provided about 10,000 job opportunities in the region.”[/size]
[size=45]He pointed out that “for the first time since 2006, these numbers of licenses have been registered in the Kurdistan Region,” stressing that “investment capital in the region has reached about 47 billion dollars.”[/size]
[size=45]He stressed, “We have paid great attention to projects that strengthen the economic infrastructure of the Kurdistan Region, including food industry projects, marketing farmers’ wheat, in addition to the production of potatoes and greenhouses, as well as exporting and marketing local products to foreign markets.”[/size]
[size=45]He pointed out, “In 2023, we launched the website and the (Kurdistan Investment) platform,” explaining that “the tourism investment map was included with the help of the Tourism Authority in the (Kurdistan Investment) platform.”[/size]
