Parliament calls on education committees to evaluate the state of lagging schools

The Parliamentary Education Committee called on the Minister of Education to form committees to follow up on rebuilding lagging schools in the governorates, especially Babylon Governorate, after they were abandoned by lagging companies, while pointing to the continuity of the Chinese contract in building schools.
Committee member, Habib Al-Halawi, said in an interview with “Al-Sabah”: “The Minister of Education must expedite sending follow-up committees to all schools, especially in Babil Governorate, to identify the obstacles facing students and schools, including needs for infrastructure and logistics, trips, blackboards, scientific objects, and means of explanation for facilitation.” On the students.”
Al-Halawi added, “A large number of schools in Babil Governorate are stagnating, including Al-Mansour Company, which received 55 pre-fabricated schools,” noting that “these schools turned into structures that have been stalled for 6 years and led to great damage, and their construction was not completed.” He explained, "The governor of Babylon must evaluate the condition of these lagging schools and projects in the governorate, while approaching the prime minister to resume work because the projects need additional funds to continue work." He continued, "Cooperation with the State of China in building schools in some governorates is in effect, and in the next six months there will be work in Babylon Governorate and other governorates by sending committees and preparing lists to restart the Chinese contract to build schools."
