    Baghdad today - Erbil
Former member of the Kurdistan Regional Parliament for the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Saeed Mustafa, confirmed today, Wednesday (March 27, 2024), that the steps announced by the regional government aim to alleviate the burden of the citizen, denying that it is “election propaganda,” with the Kurdistan Regional elections approaching on June 10.
Mustafa said in an interview with “Baghdad Today” that “these decisions have nothing to do with electoral propaganda because they came within the limits of what is possible and an attempt to alleviate the crisis that the Kurdish citizen has been suffering from for years, due to the failure to send the budget by the federal government.”
He added, "Disbursing salaries, distributing lands, and reducing the tax rate are important steps taken by the government in order to reduce the rate of the economic crisis caused by Baghdad, given its failure to send the budget and employee salaries and use them as a political card, even though they are the rights and sustenance of the citizen who must stay away from political disagreement." .
Earlier, an informed source said during an interview with “Baghdad Today” that “the Council of Ministers of the Kurdistan Regional Government held its session earlier today,” indicating that “the session that was chaired by Prime Minister Masrour Barzani included a number of decisions, most notably the distribution of salaries for the month of February.” The past and preparing the salary distribution list for the current month of March.
The source added, "The decisions also included distributing lands to teachers and non-beneficiary employees," noting that they "also included exempting water, electricity, and traffic loans by 20%."
