The Governor of Wasit, Muhammad Jamil Al-Mayahi, confirmed today, Friday, that the visit made by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil, Hayyan Abdul-Ghani Al-Sawad, yesterday to the governorate was important and could have the greatest impact on the development of the oil sector in the governorate.
Al-Mayahi said, as Al-Iqtisad News followed him, that “the visit made by Oil Minister Hayyan Abdul-Ghani Al-Sawad yesterday to the governorate was important and could have the greatest impact on the development of the oil sector in the governorate.”
Al-Mayahi added, “We presented several issues to Minister Al-Sawad, including proceeding with the formation of the Wasit Oil Company to contribute to developing the oil sector in the governorate and working more effectively with the local government,” indicating that “the Oil Minister understood this necessity, but he indicated that there are a number of things that must be done.” “It will be configured, so we hope to provide the requirements for that.”
He continued, "Social benefit projects were presented to the Minister of Oil," pointing out that "the Minister directed the Central Oil Company to quickly proceed with the requirements of providing service to the citizens of the governorate in terms of building hospitals and others to serve the people of the governorate."
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil Hayan Abdul Ghani Al-Sawad arrived in Wasit yesterday and met with the provincial government, both its legislative and executive parts, and visited Al-Ahdab field with Governor Al-Mayahi.
