Today, Wednesday, the Supreme Committee for Reconstruction and Investment approved projects in the fields of energy, industry and hospitals.
The Prime Minister’s Media Office said in a statement received by Mawazine News, “Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani chaired this afternoon the seventh meeting of the Supreme Committee for Reconstruction and Investment.”
The statement added, "The meeting witnessed the discussion of a number of investment opportunities in Baghdad and the governorates, in various sectors, and the progress of a package of important projects that contribute to revitalizing the economy and providing many job opportunities for young people."
He pointed out, "In the field of energy, the Taji gas station investment project was approved, as well as the establishment of a solar energy project in Babil Governorate, and a project to link electrical energy between Iraq and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia."
The statement continued, "The Supreme Committee for Investment and Reconstruction approved the establishment of a mental health and addiction treatment hospital in the Ghazaliya area in the capital, Baghdad."
The statement confirmed, "A project to establish a 400-bed hospital was approved, on a section of the land of Al-Rashid Camp in the capital, Baghdad. The Toyota Company project was also approved, which includes the establishment of an integrated complex that includes units for manufacturing accessories for vehicles, spare parts warehouses, and a recycling center." Rubber and plastics recycling, a training and qualification center for Iraqi labor cadres, a vehicle pre-delivery inspection center (PDI), and a vehicle storage center.”
The statement concluded, "In the industrial sector, a project was approved to establish an industrial city in Basra Governorate for the production of iron and steel, in partnership with the General Iron and Steel Company, as well as a project to produce flat float glass and a project to produce glass bottles and jars."
