    Today, Wednesday, May 8, 2024, the weekly meeting of the Kurdistan Region Council of Ministers was held, headed by Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister, and in the presence of Qubad Talabani, Vice President of the Council.[/size]
    [size=45]The meeting began with the Prime Minister expressing, on behalf of the Council, his concern about the market fire in Kayseri Erbil, expressing his solidarity with the victims and directing investigations to find out the causes of the accident. He also thanked the efforts of the fire brigades, Asayish and police, and stressed the importance of adhering to safety measures to avoid the recurrence of such incidents, while cooperating with the government and UNESCO to restore the historic market.[/size]
    [size=45]On the agenda, the latest developments regarding salaries, finances, and obligations between the regional government and the federal government, and the results of the last meeting in Baghdad, were presented. The discussion centered on the region’s initiatives in the field of non-oil revenues and the localization of the salaries of its employees.[/size]
    [size=45]The Prime Minister confirmed that the Kurdistan Regional Government has fulfilled all its obligations and duties, and called on the federal government to send salaries and financial dues to the region, while emphasizing not to obstruct this process due to political problems.[/size]
    [size=45]Cabinet Secretary, Amanj Rahim, praised the report on the technical delegation’s visit to Baghdad and the results of the discussions on the Kurdistan Region’s initiatives in the field of non-oil revenues and how to share them with the federal government, with a reference to submitting proposals and recommendations for the meetings in Baghdad.[/size]
    [size=45]The Council stressed the continued sending of information about revenues and expenditures to the Federal Ministry of Finance, in addition to implementing its obligations and sending payrolls with the required information, and expressed its hope that the region’s dues would be disbursed quickly.[/size]
    [size=45]As for the localization of the salaries of the region’s employees, the Deputy Director of the Prime Minister’s Office explained the details and confirmed the continuation of the process. The Council supported the participation of the Iraqi Trade Bank in this context, and directed that the necessary measures be taken to facilitate the process.[/size]
