     Representative Ali Sadoun confirmed, on Tuesday, that the gas import bill will begin to decline starting in 2025.
    In an interview with Al-Maalouma, Saadoun said, “Iraq has signed a series of important contracts to invest associated gas in the fields of the south, in addition to developing its gas fields.” In Diyala and other regions, within the plan to diversify energy sources and move to an important stage in building a gas industry that can create supportive paths for the national economy.”
    He added, "Gas production will begin during 2025 in its first stages, which means a decrease in the gas import bill at continuous rates until the stage of sufficiency, which we expect Iraq to reach within 3-4 years."
    He pointed out that "the gas import bill is expensive and could contribute if it is enough to transfer it to finance service projects in the governorates, in addition to creating high flexibility in the possibility of exporting gas as it is an important material in the global energy market."
    The Ministry of Oil recently signed a series of contracts with international companies to develop and invest in gas fields. Ended 25 F
