    Representative Mustafa Sanad announced on Thursday that the government had reduced governorate budgets to only 2.5 trillion dinars.
    Sanad said in a statement received by Al-Maalouma: “The government reduced the governorates’ budgets to 2.5 trillion dinars for all governorates, and raised the budget of the Ministry of Housing to 3.7 trillion dinars.”
    He added, "The largest share of the reduction is for Basra, as its budget was reduced from 2.9 trillion to only 850 billion dinars, noting that the contractors' debts owed to Basra Governorate amount to 800 billion dinars to date." Ended 25 hours
