The Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee announced today, Thursday, its intention to visit Diyala Governorate to determine the nature of the recent security breaches.
Committee member Mohammed Radhi said in a statement, "The parliamentary committee will conduct a field visit to Diyala Governorate and a mini-committee will be formed to follow up on the ongoing deterioration of the security situation in the governorate."
Radhi added that "those concerned will be summoned in order to determine the causes of the recent security breaches in Diyala."
He pointed out that "the governorate has international borders where there are security problems related to smuggling, drugs, or other problems."
