Azerbaijani move to activate "Business Council" with Iraq: enhances direct communication

Shafaq News/ Trend news website quoted the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy as saying that the agreement reached between Iraq and Azerbaijan last September to form a joint "Businessmen Council" will allow for the promotion of entrepreneurial initiatives in the two countries, the establishment of direct relations between them, the exchange of visits, meetings and various events, in addition to activating the exchange of information between businessmen in Baghdad and Baku.
The Azerbaijani report, translated by Shafaq News Agency, indicated that in order to develop cooperation between Azerbaijani and Iraqi business circles in the context of the Azerbaijani-Iraqi "Business Forum" held in Baku in September, a document was signed to establish the "Azerbaijani-Iraqi Business Council."
The report explained that this document, signed between the Azerbaijan Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency and the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce, stipulates the representation of entrepreneurs from the two countries in the joint “Business Council” between the two countries.
The report quoted the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy as saying that the “Business Council” will contribute to supporting entrepreneurs’ initiatives, and will help establish direct communication and exchange visits between them, in addition to holding various meetings and events, and exchanging information between businessmen.
The report stated that the document establishing the joint "Business Council" was signed by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy, Orkhan Mammadov, and on the Iraqi side by the Chairman of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Abdul Razzaq Al-Zuhairi.
