The Iraqi Council of Ministers approved, on Tuesday, the issuance of the official clothing system for the Iraqi army, and also issued decisions related to economic, service and sports affairs.[/size]
[size=45]This came during the 44th regular session of the Council, which was held today, Tuesday, headed by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, in which the general conditions in various fields were discussed, the files and topics included on the agenda were followed up, and decisions related to them were taken.[/size]
[size=45]According to a statement by Al-Sudani's office, the session witnessed the Minister of Planning presenting a review of the steps to implement the population census that will be conducted on November 20. The Prime Minister directed the Ministry of Education to complete the Ministry of Planning's need for human resources to complete the population census process.[/size]
[size=45]The Council of Ministers continued to consider the files and topics on the agenda and took the necessary decisions regarding them.[/size]
[size=45]In the economic field, the Council of Ministers decided to adopt a schedule of values ​​and rates of customs duties for mobile phones and their accessories, as stated by the Ministry of Finance, and to add the Director General of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq Customs, or a representative whose job rank is not less than Director General, to the membership of the Diwani Order Committee (61 of 2024), provided that he is authorized to sign.[/size]
[size=45]The Council of Ministers approved the issuance of the official clothing system for the Iraqi army, audited by the Council of State, based on the provisions of the Constitution and the Iraqi Army Official Clothing Law, No. (35 of 1935).[/size]
[size=45]The Council of Ministers approved the transfer of an amount of (3.75) billion dinars from the Sunni Endowment Diwan’s investment budget allocations to the Ministry of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Works, based on the provisions of the General Budget Law (13 of 2023) to rehabilitate the minaret of the Al-Khulafa Mosque, and the Ministry of Finance shall finance the amount immediately.[/size]
[size=45]The Council approved the allocation of the Ministry of Finance of an amount of (10) billion dinars from the emergency reserve for the year 2024, to the Ministry of Electricity/Electric Power Transmission Lines Company, based on the provisions of the Federal General Budget Law, or from the allocations of the Ministry of Interior and its affiliated formations, after the Ministry of Finance is provided with details of the amount, to purchase a camera surveillance system, Japanese-made double-cab pickup trucks, and specialized wheels for the Electricity Police Directorate, according to the recommendations of the Ministerial Order Committee (358 of 2024).[/size]
[size=45]The Council of Ministers approved the Code of Professional Conduct for Sports Media, as prepared by the Committee of Diwani Order (24640), issued by the Office of the Prime Minister.[/size]
[size=45]In the field of protecting the national product, and the applications of the Iraqi Products Protection Law (11 of 2010), the Council of Ministers approved the recommendations of the relevant committee in the Ministry of Industry and Minerals as follows:[/size]
[size=45]1. Imposing an additional customs duty of (50%) on the unit of measurement of the (thermstone) product imported into Iraq from all countries and origins, for a period of four years.[/size]
[size=45]2. The Ministry of Finance/General Authority of Customs shall apply the additional customs duty on the aforementioned product, and shall notify the Department of Industrial Development and Regulation (Ministry of Industry and Minerals) periodically of the quantity of imports of the aforementioned product, the value of the additional customs duties collected, the value of the importer, the exporting countries, and the importing entities.[/size]
[size=45]3. The Ministry of Industry and Minerals shall take into account the amount of increase in imports compared to the previous three years, to determine the extent of the unjustified increase, and to clarify the ability of the complaining company to meet the market’s needs, ensuring that prices do not inflate, and the importance of the required protection, and the auditing of the regulatory authorities of the effects resulting from the imposition of additional customs protection, and that this decision shall be implemented after (120) days from the date of its issuance.[/size]
[size=45]The Council of Ministers approved amending its decision No. (23610 of 2024), by adding what includes the Civil Aviation Authority contracting with experts in the fields of (air transport, ground services, and safety programs), through the Civil Aviation Organization, the International Air Transport Association, or individually, according to the mechanisms, costs, and methods of contracting under previous decisions.[/size]
[size=45]The draft law on rehabilitation was approved, reviewed by the State Council, and referred to the House of Representatives based on the provisions of the Constitution, taking into account the comments of the Legal Department of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers.[/size]
[size=45]The session witnessed the approval of exempting the property numbered (4/45 m 28 Tajyat/Baghdad Governorate), owned by the Ministry of Finance, from Cabinet Resolution (197 of 2016) and reallocating it to the Baghdad Municipality to establish Al-Jawadain Park.[/size]
[size=45]The Council followed up on the implementation of stalled projects and the completion of infrastructure projects, and approved the following:[/size]
[size=45]1. Increase the estimated cost of the project (construction of 115 low-cost houses in Amara district).[/size]
[size=45]2. Increase the estimated cost of the project (construction of 108 low-rise floors in Qalaat Saleh).[/size]
[size=45]3. Increase the reserve amount and the total cost of the project (rehabilitation and expansion of the operating room at Souq Al-Shuyukh Hospital, with the establishment of an emergency unit in the emergency room).[/size]
[size=45]4. Increase the total cost of the (Al-Hur District Sewerage) project.[/size]
