Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) -MP, Suzan al-Saad, of al-Fadhila bloc announced that the Minister of the Youth and Sport approved naming the main entrance and street of Basra province in the name of the late Basra Governor, Mohammed Musbih al-Waili.
In a press statement received by IraqiNews.com, she said “We have collected signatures of 150 MPs and suggested to name the Sport City in Basra in the name of late Waeli where the Youth Minister approved naming its main entrance and street by Waeli’s name.”
“Naming the entrance and the street is to show the appreciation to Waeli’s efforts to constructing the Sport City where it is a practical response to the terrorism that targeted Waeli,” she concluded.
It is worth mentioning that an armed group assassinated Waeli near a mosque in Basra province in September 2012.
